Creator FAQ
Answers about showcasing your work, asset protection, avatar permissions, and selling on Mochiya.
How does Mochiya protect my work?
Your work remains yours. Making a 3D showcase public does not grant visitors permission to reuse or redistribute its assets. Showcases are read-only, with no asset download option in the showcase interface; private uploads and buyer downloads are subject to access controls.
Mochiya applies technical safeguards to the transmission and authorized delivery of creator content, including encrypted transport, server-side permission checks and time-limited access links. These controls govern how model data is provided to the application for viewing.
How can I use Mochiya as a creator?
Start with a 3D showcase
Combine your outfit or accessory with a base avatar and other assets you are licensed to use, then share a read-only 3D showcase. Add its link to your BOOTH listing, X posts or other platforms so visitors can explore the complete look. You can keep selling elsewhere; listing on Mochiya is not required.
Go further with optional marketplace sales
Alongside your showcases, you can also sell your outfits, hair, accessories or avatars on the Marketplace. Shoppers can try compatible pieces with a base avatar they upload themselves in Avatar Studio, then purchase the items they choose. You sell your own asset separately; a third-party base avatar does not need to be included in your product.
What permissions do I need for base avatars and other third-party assets?
Check the actual license of every third-party asset you use, including base bodies, hair, textures and accessories. Buying an asset does not automatically permit uploading, public display or redistribution. If the terms do not clearly cover your intended use, obtain permission from the rights holder first.
1. For a read-only 3D showcase
You need permission to upload each included asset to Mochiya and display it publicly as part of the showcase. Read-only viewing does not remove these requirements.
2. For selling individual assets
You must have the rights to sell and deliver everything included in your listing. Do not bundle a third-party base avatar or other asset unless its license expressly permits that distribution. For try-on, shoppers bring base avatars they have purchased and are licensed to use on Mochiya.
For individual creators and buyers, these are common permissions to check in a VN3 license:
| What you want to do | Relevant clauses |
|---|---|
| Share a 3D showcase | 1-A + (2-C or 2-D) |
| Sell your own compatible outfits or accessories | 1-A + (7-S or 7-T) |
| Upload your avatar for private try-on | 1-A + (2-C or 2-D) |
When adjusting or combining assets, also check 4-I / 4-J / 4-K.
You are responsible for obtaining the necessary rights. Rights holders can contact us about suspected violations; we review reports and remove infringing assets or showcases.
What does each way of using Mochiya cost?
1. Read-only 3D showcases — free
Creating and sharing a read-only 3D showcase is free. You do not need to list or sell on Mochiya, and Mochiya does not charge a commission on sales you complete on BOOTH or other platforms.
2. Marketplace sales — deductions on paid sales
For each paid item sold on Mochiya, we currently deduct a 10% platform commission plus 5.4% + USD 0.30 for payment processing and related costs from your listed price. The upload form shows the applicable deductions and estimated earnings before you list.
Mochiya is still an early-stage project, and these fees may change based on community feedback.
